I have a long-standing love affair with nature. I love looking at the sky and trees and water. I find that my walks in nature provide me with fresh air and a greater sense of at-one-ment with the world.
While on a walk recently, I looked at the trees - really looked. I noticed the beautiful spring leaves looking fresh and green against brown and grays of tree bark. Old trees with thick strong trunks towered over flexible saplings. And my eyes traveling upward to the treetops of the old forest- some 100 feet above me.
My attention became focused on the tippy-top part of the trees. Splendid green leaves swayed in the spring breezes against the blue sky. Glorious! As they danced in the sun, I felt like my soul danced with them.
Clear and free in the air, the top of the tree is the first to feel the sun, feel the rain, feel the snows, and see the birds skimming the air currents above. My awareness was perched at the highest part of the trees and I could touch the sun and experience the higher reaches too. Surveying the landscape via remote viewing with my soul and communicating with the trees on this vertical level was awe-some.
This beautiful tree-top experience helps me to realize that I've gotten into the habit of looking at the houses and trees and animals within 20 feet from the ground. It was wonderful to be reminded and feel the divine connection in this exulted way. Let us lift our thoughts, perspectives, and souls upward.
And now I find myself humming lines from some of my favorite Spiritualist church hymns:
"Upward ever upward, let our thoughts arise, May we know God's power than caused earth and skies." -- from Onward and Upward
"Highest heights in truth's domain, I shall reach and thus obtain
Every longing of my heart, for no blessing can depart;
All of health and good are mine, since like God, I am divine." -- from Destiny at My Command
