Writing a Positive Affirmation
Now that you have decided what you truly desire, it’s time to write your affirmation. This is a statement of YOUR truth.
Affirmations are always phrased in the first person and usually in a present tense ("I am") rather than a future tense ("I will") in order to increase the realization of the statement for the affirmee.
It is also important to not limit your affirmation too much. For example, "I am making more room in my life for success every day" is a much wiser affirmation choice than "I will win the lottery today!"
And you can take a negative (-) thought statement and turn it into a positive (+)thought statement. Here are some examples:
- My life is a mess.
+ I am willing to release the pattern in me that created these conditions.
- I should lose weight.
+I have a happy, slender body.
- Nobody loves me.
+ I am in the process of positive changes.
- I want to move.
+ I have the perfect living space.
- I hate my job.
+ I now create a wonderful new job.
- I should get organized.
+ I am now very well organized.
- I don’t do enough ____.
+ I appreciate all that I do. I love and approve of myself.
- I’m not good enough.
+ I trust the process of life to bring me my highest good. I deserve the best & I accept it now.
