Last night, I was trying to get to sleep and wasn't going into a peaceful slumber right away. So I took stock of the situation.
I noticed that I still had some little tensions in my body and that I was holding onto stress from the day. I thought about how the techniques I use to facilitate and relax into meditation could help me sleep now.
During my meditation times, I close my eyes and consciously relax my body. My awareness travels the highways and byways of my body, releasing tension in my limbs, stomach, back, neck, shoulders, and head. I feel the tightness releasing and good energy flows into all the spaces of my Self. My breathing also relaxes and I focus on taking deeper and slower breaths. In a matter of moments, I shift my state of conscousness from alpha, to beta, to theta. Light and love surround and embrace me, and I marvel at the peace I feel.
Using these principles last night, I consciously relaxed my arms and legs, my neck and shoulders, and my face and mouth. Without realizing it, I had been clamping my jaw tightly. Breathing through it, I allowed my entire being to relax and let go.
As I was drifting off to sleep (finally moving into delta *yay*), I thought about how I would share these simple techniques with you my blogreaders to help facilitate your meditation and/or sleep.
Now, you are ready to experience time with your Divine expression with open energy and open arms. What a wonderful way to prepare for renewal during the day or night!
