the Nudge & Synchronicity

The other day, a client came for a reading.  During the course of the session, the client's loved ones in Spirit explained how they were witnessing her life, the ways they noticed she was feeling overwhelmed, and they offered their loving support and encouragement.  And then I got the "nudge". Frequently, spirit loved ones offer their "two cents" about situations and sometimes they nudge me to share something I have learned about, read about, or experienced directly.  These are things they feel are helpful to the client.  And every time this happens, clients are very grateful to have the validation and discussion.  Because I prefer to be a clean slate for the reading and also because I need and deserve my down-time to live my own life, I make it a rule to NOT receive spirit information in advance of a session.  However, I still make room for Spiritual Natural Law. This means that I allow the Divine to work with m...

Don't dread the path

Today I was driving home and I had the choice of two possible paths that would take me there. So I asked my soul which path to take - what path is the highest and best for me.  I immediately felt drawn in one direction. With that decision now made, I eased out of the store parking lot. I trundled along happily until I spotted up ahead the distinctive orange sign indicating men working. Ugh, I thought. Now I will delayed. I immediately cancelled that thought, replacing it with "My journey will not be interrupted for long and there is a reason that this path was chosen. I shall have the opportunity for another blessing in my life." The cars ahead of me began to slow and I noticed two more orange signs "Single lane" and "Road closed on the left". But I refused to be upset, I was calm. And I was right not to dread the path. Our lane was open and the cars flowed without stopping.  Barely a pause on the trip. A tree was being cut and removed. A...

Eagle

While driving to Fredonia on the back roads, I spotted a large bird flying down the middle of the road straight toward me.  When it was 100 feet in front of me, I recognized it as an Bald Eagle.  Although I haven't seen an Eagle in years, the white head and brown body were unmistakable.  And so was the spiritual message for me. Moments before, I had just been asking the Divine about an aspect of my spiritual journey.  And here was the answer! Those of you who are familiar with the Eagle as a symbol know already what I am about to write.  Eagle symbolizes connection with the Divine.  It is associated with the ability to live in the realm of Spirit, and yet remain connected and balanced on the Earth plane.  For many Native American tribes, the Eagle represents a state of Grace achieved thru hard work and a completion of spiritual tests.  The feather of the Eagle is considered to be the most sacred of healing tools.  When the...

Autumn clearing

While on a walk, I was admiring the beautiful autumn colors.  Splendid yellows, oranges, and reds are colors I associate with the bottom three chakras: Red - root chakra (at base of spine) - roots, family, survival issues Orange - sacral chakra (just below the navel) - sexual energy, identity as a mother/sister/daughter/wife or father/brother/son/husband Yellow - solar plexus chakra (few inches above the navel) - place of personal power Autumn is wonderful time to begin a "review and renewal" process internally.  Clearing those bottom three chakras is important for general energy housekeeping and also for a better spiritual understanding of our physical and emotional connections with ourselves and others.  As I was thinking about these things, I observed a small brown leaf floating on the wind toward me and into my path. No other leaves were flying, so it was very noticeable.  The wind blew it directly in front of me until...

My husband caught a fish

My husband caught a fish. We were camping near a big beautiful lake in the Adirondacks last week, so we made sure we had our fishing gear with us.  After making camp, we decided to go fishing for our dinner. So there we were... fishing ... my husband (who is teaching me to fish ), my son (who is almost 3 now and who is also  teaching me to fish ), and me.  My husband spends most of our 'family fishing' time tending to the needs of his family.  The scenario usually unfolds thusly: My husband carefully selects and places lures onto our fishing lines and just about the time he is about to pick up his own fishing pole.... my son or I get our line snagged in a tree... then just after he has extracted it and replaced the lost lure... the other one of us gets our line snagged on a log... this continues for awhile until we work out the kinks...and we're finally casting the line out correctly, getting a smooth feel for it again, and feeling...

Wedding joys

I had the great joy of officiating a wedding today.  It was an outdoor event and we gathered on a small hill, surrounded by trees and tall grasses. On the hill behind me was a gently curving path up to the hill's crest.  The bride and groom chose this site on their property because of the symbolic path they will walk as a married couple.  Family and friends gathered for the event.  And then a singer with a beautiful alto voice sung the bridal attendants up a beautiful grassy aisle bordered by rose petals.  Rain softly misted us during the event as the bride and groom committed themselves to each other.  And although I officially conducted the ceremony and blessed the occasion as a minister, it is my feeling that only a couple can truly administer the sacrament of marriage to each other, and only a couple can sanctify it. Neither my church, nor any power vested in me by the State, can grant me the authority to decla...

The year of the train

My little boy is two years old now and we celebrated his birthday recently.  When it came time to open his presents, those gathered were astounded. One set of grandparents gave him a set of handmade wooden train cars with wooden zoo animals.  The other set of grandparents gave him a Lincoln Log set with a train track and train engine.  And get this, my husband gave him a Thomas the Train set (I can't take credit as it was purchased without my knowledge).  Trains, trains, and more trains! Prior to the gathering, no one knew that the others planned to gift him with trains.  Without conscious awareness, they were all tuned into the Univeral Mind and their intuitive selves were sharing vibrational frequency with one thought, one reality --- TRAINS.  This is an example of the spiritual natural Law of Attraction in action.  The Law of Attraction assisted the magnetic draw of the trains. But it gets better... a few days later, a good...

10-24-2010 church with my parents

Yesterday I served as the chairperson of the Sunday morning church service at the Church of the Living Spirit (my home church).  It was a wonderful gathering of my spiritual family .  This particular Sunday, I had the additional bonus of being on the platform with my parents [my spiritual and  biological family].  We have served together often over the years in some variation or another, but I am always impressed by what I learn from them still.  [You would think I had heard it all by now! *smile*] My father, Bill White, presented a lecture about "Vision Quests".  He detailed the nature of the vision quest and gave some poignant examples of vision quests.  Vision quests involve going inward to develop a conscious awareness of the soul's connection with the Divine and usually have a healing and/or intuitive result. I especially enjoyed his historical information in regard to Lily Dale's beginnings being a direct result of ...

Dragonfly wings

Something magical has happened. Today at the park, a dragonfly landed on my son. My little guy was playing on the steps to the slide when a dragonfly swooped down and attached itself to his shirt! The dragonfly took up residence exactly between my son's shoulderblades and a few inches from his neck of his shirt. It looked like my son had wings!! Beautiful irridescent angel wings. Incredibly, the dragonfly remained perched on my son while he explored some of the other playground equipment, stayed on him as he rambunctiously ran to the basketball court to pick up and throw the ball several times, and entered the maze hedge with him. He even stumbled a few times. All told, it remained unmoving on my son's back for over 20 minutes. Eventually, I saw the dragonfly fly on. It buzzed over a field of flowers and was gone. What was the message? The dragonfly has been a symbol of happiness, new beginnings, and change in many cultures. Some animal symbolism has the dragonfly representing...

Welcome to the Year of the Tiger

Today marks the first day of the Chinese New Year. Here is a synopsis of what I know about it and what I feel are the significant points. If anyone has knowledge to share, please post a comment. :) For the next 15 days, people will pour out their money to buy presents, decorations, food, fireworks, and clothing. Traditionally, every family thoroughly cleans the house to sweep away any ill-fortune in hopes to make way for good incoming luck. Windows and doors will be decorated with red paper and sayings with popular themes of “happiness”, “wealth”, and “longevity”. From what I understand in my reading, each day has its own special significance and suggested food delicacies symbolizing the themes of the occasion. Affirmations are used (I like that) and blessings of prosperity and joy are exchanged (I like the sounds of that too). This is a special time of year to wish others a healthy and happy new year, and give and receive money in red paper envelopes. The Chinese New Year tradition pr...

Miraculous survival in Haiti

I would be remiss if I didn't mention some of my thoughts regarding the Haitian survivors of the earthquake, especially this survivor . . . One survivor, a 16 year old girl, was pulled from the rubble in Port-au Prince more than TWO WEEKS after the earthquake. She is a surprise for the doctor who said that her survival was medically inexplicable. We cannot really explain this because that's just [against] medical facts," Dr Evelyne Lambert said. "We are very surprised by the fact that's she alive . . . She's saying that she's been under the ground since" Jan 12. One who didn’t seem surprised was the girl’s mother, a poor rice-and-vegetable peddler. “I never thought she was dead,” Kerline Dorcant, 39, said. “I always thought she was alive. It’s God” hearing a mother’s nonstop prayers, she said. I think her mother is absolutely correct. It's God. Divine right timing and divine right order. With 90% of the buildings destoyed in Port-au Prince and unc...

Many lives, many masters - Synchronicity

I was speaking with a friend yesterday and he mentioned a certain book to me: Many Lives, Many Masters by Brian Weiss [which I read four years ago]. We discussed some of the topics of the book and then our conversation progressed to other things. When I got home, I saw a book on the floor. Imagine my surprise when I bent down to pick it up and saw the exact book mentioned earlier. My little boy strikes again! While I was away, he had extracted this one book from the bookshelf and left it conspiciously in my path. He usually goes for other books. See my blogpost My baby can read for more info. Pair that with the fact that I didn't even think this book was on that particular bookshelf and it's even more synchronistic. I decided to flip the book open to whatever page would present itself. Imagine my non-surprise when I found myself on the page where Dr. Weiss describes doing regression work with a patient who began channeling specific information from Weiss' father in Spirit...

When songs get stuck

In my last blogpost Falling Off the Ice Cream Wagon , I asked you: "Have you ever heard a song and the tune gets stuck in your head all day? The lyrics roll over and over until you burst out into song, sometimes passing the problem onto family and friends." Supposedly 98% of people have experienced this and it is an actual phenomenon that has been studied at length by scientists, psychologists, and those who market products with those catchy jingles. Some terms used to define, explain, and understand this phenomenon are: Earworm Haunting melody Involuntary musical imagery Repetune Aneurhythm Humbug Stuck song syndrome Melodymania Well, whatever you want to call it --- I guess I invoked it in full force with the ice cream blog because it happened. Story time... My husband was attempting to spoonfeed our baby son. I say 'attempting' because our little guy was squirming and craning his head around to see me working away in the kitchen. "Come on, turn around," m...

Angels are among us

The angels have been out today. (They are always out, but I took notice of them in special ways today.) Sometimes angels come into our lives at unexpected moments and they make our day brighter. 1. The Parking Angel : We arrived at our destination and pulled into a metered parking spot flashing "expired". A lady in a bright neon yellow shirt walked briskly down the long row of metered spots along the street and stopped in front of our vehicle! She unlocked the meter box, removed the change, and announced that we were now all paid up for the next two hours!!! Our parking angel then spun round and briskly returned back up the street. 2. The Swimming Angel : We arrived at my son's baby swim class early. Because my husband took our son to get ready in the men's locker room, I got ready in the women's locker room in no time flat and entered the pool area well ahead of them. A water aerobics class was in progress. The swim instructor smiled at me and I explain...

We are all connected

Yesterday, while I was booking a client, something along the lines of sychronicity happened. This particular client (I soon learned) runs a shop in a tiny town more than three hours away. While we were on the phone finalizing the details, my client said my name and a voice in her shop piped up, "Willa? Willa White?" This voice belonged to an acquaintance of mine and I had managed to call at the exact moment that she had just happened to stop at this shop to browse. She had never been there before and was on her way home from a month-long trip abroad. My client was so excited she put my acquaintance on the phone! (This has happened a few times to me when scheduling. I recall one client was on her cell phone on a beach 14 hours away and a passerby (another client) heard my name and just had to say 'hi!')
