"The Power of Embodied Prayer" VanPraagh chat event 4/12/11

Via his website, well-known medium James Van Praagh offers teaching seminars via online chats on Tuesdays evenings. During JVP Chat Events, a variety of authors, speakers and practitioners share seminar-type chats on interesting and diverse topics. Chat Events include a text-only seminar from the guest speaker as well as an interactive question and answer session.

Over the years, this has been a fun and educational way for student mediums to explore and learn online!  Chat events are free and they last about one hour.  And this week, I will be returning as the special guest for James' chat seminar to teach and inspire.

The Power of Embodied Prayer"

Brief synopsis of my topic for the chat event this week:

Prayer is the most universal expression of the Presence of God. Many of us express devotion, anger, love, and many other emotions in prayer using mental or verbal prayer. Now is the time to learn how our actions and movements can be expressions of prayer using the spiritual practice of Embodied Prayer.

During this uplifting chat event, Embodied Prayer will be defined and explained. Join us as we explore the ways our bodies can embody prayer and recognize how our bodies can be places where prayer is actively happening.

Being a strongly clairsentient (feeling) medium, I have had ample opportunity to experience how my body can embody prayer.  I utilize this special understanding in my professional life as a Medium-Spiritual Teacher and in my personal life. During this chat event, I will share ways to express active recognition of the Presence of God through Embodied Prayer, including some of the techniques of Embodied Prayer I personally use in my spiritual practice.

The chat event will be begin at 9:00 p.m. in the JVP Chat Special Events Room!  To join me at the chat event, you must first register as a JVP member (click the link and follow the instructions), then you will be allowed access to the Chat Room.

Flashes of light

I am a medium , so I 'see' things. *smile* Well, every now and then, I see a small light. (And I don't mean an orb or a light flying around the room like Tinkerbell.) I am talking about a small pinprick of light that remains stationary and lasts for 2-3 seconds. It resembles a star from the night sky, albeit a very miniature one. This little 'flash of light' is a spirit. Sometimes I see a 'flash of light' (or a miniature star) around clients during readings --- either near the client's chair or in another part of the room. Also, I remember seeing them in a museum, on the trail in the woods, here at home, and at church. When I see that pinprick of light, I focus on asking the spirit to provide me with more information and to share their essence . Much like seeing spirit in side vision , it's a way that we can perceive those in spirit. These flashes of light are just another way for spirit loved ones to communicate that they are with us. Your job during a mediumship reading

If you are the person who is receiving a mediumship reading and desiring spirit contact, you have a very important job --- CONFIRMATION. This means confirmation either by your own personal knowledge or thru the personal knowledge of another person known to the spirit. During the course of the mediumship reading, you can confirm the information that you know to be true. And some information may require validation after the reading with friends or other family members who are privy to this certain info. Here are some examples of ways in which a spirit may try to validate who they are: The spirit's personality traits or physical characteristics may be described. This is part of what I call the Essence of Spirit . Most spirits are willing to share how they passed with the medium. Sometimes the spirit will give names very clearly or just the initial.
