PASSIVE BALANCE  I recently saw a flock of live flamingos and I began wondering... "Why do flamingos stand on one leg?" Theories have ranged from conserving body heat to muscle fatigue reduction. But let's explore what happens when a Flamingo Stands on One Leg... A flamingo's leg is very stable. A flamingo can passively support their body weight on one leg without ANY muscle activity. If fact, it takes more active effort from muscles for the birds to stabilize a two-legged stance than a one-legged one. Even better, flamingos sway less as they become less active. According to scientists, when the birds close their eyes and fall asleep on one leg, presumably with very little muscle activity, their postural sway is SEVEN times LOWER compared to when they were very active. This brings us to more interesting questions... can the rules of Passive Balance be applied spiritually? Can we stabilize our lives with the least amount of effort (at least temporarily)? Many...

How do You surf the Waves of Life?  Some waves are little ripples, some pull you into the undertow, and some feel like tsunami level 30 feet waves that can swamp you. When you are learning to Surf, your surf instructor says:  "Look only where you want to go.  Don't look at where you don't want to go.  Find that sweet spot on the board and Look Forward." If you look down at the water or the board, you're going to end up in the water.  Kersploosh! Relax into balance and enter into the stance of the Relaxed Warrior.  Keep your focus on the end result of the land ahead and you have a better chance of a smooth ride. On Monday August 28th, I will be the Featured Speaker at the afternoon church service in Lily Dale.   During the summer season, the afternoon services are held in Lily Dale's historic Auditorium starting at 2:30 p.m. The Auditorium platform has been a place for speakers of spiritual philosophy, social causes, and Spiritualism. Several big names have spoken there - Susan B. Anthony, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, and more! I have had the honor of speaking on the summer platform for over a decade. Recently, a client emailed me with a thank you and an explanation for specific information that came through during her Mediumship Reading with me. This is such a wonderful example of how our spirit loved ones pay attention to our lives... and laugh with us!  I am sharing the story and her name with her permission below.... I am often struck with INSPIRATION in everyday circumstances.  It is as if the clouds part and a beam of light enters into me and I see a positive message in my situation.  I gratefully accept these spiritual insights.  My children often are part of my discovery, gratitude, and inspirations.  Thomas Kelly in his book “A Testament of Devotion” talks about (page 45) how the “last fruit of holy obedience is the simplicity of the trusting child, the simplicity of the children of God.  It is the simplicity which lies beyond complexity…and on the yonder side of sophistication… it is the beginning of spiritual maturity…and the mark of this simplified life is radiant joy.  As Kelly describes it, “We are called to put our hands trustingly in His hand and walk the holy way, in no anxiety assuredly resting in Him.” “According to your Faith, be it unto you.” My children have a book titled “Tractor Factory”. A ball of string.  My three-year-old found a ball of string and unrolled it all throughout the downstairs of the house saying he was "making a road."  It's just like the little boy with the dash Trail from the Family Circle comic.  Or a cat... He is so delightfully occupied that I think we can safely return all of his Christmas presents to the store now.  But we should probably keep the cardboard boxes.  *smile*

What a magnificent autumn!  This year, many Lily Dale visitors and locals alike have commented on the glorious weather and the spectacular colors of the trees.  Mother Nature has been particularly perfect in her "chemistry experiment" (as I am calling it).  It must have been the Divine Right blend of temperature and plant synergy. And this formula also means: autumn leaves = leaf piles are in great supply = FUN! To their great delight, my children discovered an EXTRA large and EXTRA deep pile of dry leaves to play in.  While the older boy dove into the mound and practically swam in the leafy depths, the younger boy waded in up to the top of his head.  Both were smiling from ear to ear. This month, I will be teaching a spiritual development class at Jamestown Community College: Clairvoyance & Symbol Interpretation class Wednesday October 26, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jamestown NY campus Symbols are an important facet of clairvoyance and the visual imagery associated with seeing intuitively.  Perhaps more than any other tool, images and symbols can provide a deeply personal look into self-discovery and one's search for individual and spiritual meaning.  In this class, we will discuss how to look clairvoyantly for the symbols in your life and explore methods of symbol interpretation for meditation, dream interpretation, spirit communication, and most importantly, personal awareness.  Come and learn how to work with the symbols, images, and messages of your soul. This autumn at Jamestown Community College,   I will be teaching: "Working with Spirit Guides" Wednesday October 19, 2016 at the Jamestown NY campus Do you want to learn to be better attuned to your spirit guide?  If so, then take this class which is an excellent introduction to spirit guides - their nature, their purpose in our lives, our relationship to them, and what to expect.  Participants will learn how to meet and interact with their spirit guides, practice sensing their spirit guides and receiving guidance from them, understand the ways they enrich our lives, and discover how their spirit guides are working with them on their spiritual path. The summer Season flew by sooooo fast!   Those ten weeks felt like two!! My life seems to go by at the speed of light because it is full of family, clients, and various commitments.  And my life is full of many blessings and moments I cherish. I find myself studying my childrens' hands, faces, voices, and more because they are growing and changing each passing day.  Later on, when they are older, I want to remember the delicious moments of holding them in my arms , helping them with their shoes and homework, laughing at silly things, exploring in the woods, floating in the lake, taking walks and splashing in puddles ...
